What is sweet lime?

Sweet lime is a fruit of the citrus family which is not sour but its juice is sweet. Citrus family fruits are mostly sour with lemon being the top but sweet lime is sweet in taste. It can also be called sweet lemon, it is a fruit full of rich juice and it can be easily planted wherever citrus is cultivated in the world and it is also easily available in these areas. Similarly, it Can be easily found in the larger fruit corners of the world.

Use of sweet lime 

Sweet lime is a juicy fruit full of nutrients and salts and it is used as a remedy for various diseases.
People use it in common fever, malaria, typhoid, diarrhea etc.

Uses of Sweet Lime in IBS

Sweet lime is very important in IBS and helps in reducing the symptoms. If a patient is experiencing symptoms of IBS due to  food, consuming four to six sweet limes will provide adequate relief. It can reduce the pain and cramping of IBS and relax the gastrointestinal track.

How to Eat Sweet Lime in IBS

Sweets can be eaten in two ways in IBS.

  • Direct cut and sucked
  • Extract the juice of sweet lime

Direct cut and sucked

Wash the fresh sweet limes and cut them into four pieces and squeeze the juice. It is important here that only the juice of the sweet lime is squeezed and the pulp is not used as it is relatively bitter.

Drink the juice

Another way is to extract the juice of sweet lime and then drink it, but there is a fear that the peels of the sweet lime, which are bitter, will also be added to the juice and the taste will not be good.
But sweet lime is good for IBS no matter how it is used. It is worth mentioning here that you should use fresh sweet lime juice and try any other addition to make the juice taste better like salt etc. Be sure to use at least five to six.

When you should not be used Sweet Lime

  • If you are allergic to sweet lime
  • The Sweet Lime is not fresh
  • When you have drunk your fill of water
  • The doctor has forbidden it due to any other disease
