It involves the use of drugs to change one’s behavior and to perform certain physical tasks that will enable one to live a normal life. One of them is a hot water bottle.
How hot water benefit IBS
Foods that are digested during IBS remain in the digestive tract and cause the symptoms of IBS. If the symptoms of IBS are appearing, you can heat water and put it inside a bottle and rotate it clockwise and anti-clockwise over your stomach and intestines.
This will give you relief for a short time and your food will be start pass forward. And if there is no normal movement in the digestive system then the movement will start and you will get some relief.
One of the reasons for this is that when you use hot water in this way, the gas in the stomach will expand to some extent. It will try to get out. And it will motivate the system and you will get some relief. [1]10 ways to cope with IBS – Independent.ie
How to make a hot bottle for IBS
You can use a glass or plain plastic bottle to prepare a hot water bottle. You start heating plain water and make sure that the water does not get so hot that it starts boiling. Just heat enough as the body can bear this.
You place this bottle on your stomach with the help of a towel and keep moving. After a while, the gas inside your stomach will be more diffused and the heat will cause movement in the digestive system. It will give you some relief.
Why use only hot water?
Water has the ability to absorb heat and retain heat longer.
You can put something like a warm cloth on your gastrointestinal track. But doing so will soon transfer the heat to your stomach and you will have to bother to reheat it. So you heat the water.
Do this and put it in a glass or plastic bottle and place it on your stomach with the help of a towel. This will make it easier for you.
Disadvantages to using hot water
- If you use too much-boiling water there is a chance of burning.
- It is important to note that the water should be warm enough to withstand your body heat.
- You can use a hot water towel of 60 to 70 degrees Celsius.
- You should not use hot water at all when there is already a lot of movement in your digestive system. That is, if you have diarrhea, you are going to the washroom after a while.
- You should only use this method when your stomach is upset and your arteries are blocked.
Or on the other hand, your colon is hurting.
